Manchester League

Well done to all athletes who completed the series by finishing 4 out of the 5 races (3 out of 4 races for under 11’s). Series results can be found here: http://www.race-results.co.uk/results/2015/

Highlights include Louie Haynes in the under 15 boys category, he completed all 5 races giving him 17 points which was good enough for a Bronze medal overall. Luke Piper also had a fantastic season again completing all 5 races, including wining the last race and winning the under 17 men’s category overall!

Great efforts from Bethany Hirst and Holly Teague who finished joint 6th overall in the Senior Women’s event. Janine Ridgard won the Ladies Vet 50 category very comfortably with a very low score of 8 points after winning 2 races in the series.

Patrick Gardiner had another great season, finishing a brilliant 3rd overall in the Senior Men’s category, with Aaron Schofield having a consistent season finishing a solid 12th overall.

South East Lancs League

A special mention to Greg Dari who won the Under 11 boys category overall, and won all 3 races that he competed in. Patrick McGuinness finishes a superb 3rd overall in the same age group. Megan Lewis and Abby O’Neil had great seasons with 1st and joint 2nd respectively overall in the Under 13 girls event. They had great support from Freya Handley and Holly Jackson to take the team prize too! We had 1st and 3rd in the Under 15 boys category with Louie Haynes and Nathan Barlow. Molly Healey finished a brilliant joint 2nd overall in the series in the Under 15 girls category.

Luke Piper finished 1st and George Lewis 2nd overall in the Under 17 men’s age group, the team finishing 1st overall with great support from Patrick O’Brian and Oliver Topping. Another 1, 2 in the Under 17 ladies category with Lily McGuinness 1st and Alannah Newell 2nd. Hayley Simpson finished 2nd overall in the Junior Women’s event after a great season running with the Seniors. Tom McGuinness also ran with the seniors and finished 1st overall in the Junior Men age group.

Great efforts from Janet Grint (1st in the Ladies Vet 35), Michelle Vaughan (3rd in the Ladies Vet 40) and Janine Ridgard (1st again in the Ladies Vet 50) all having fantastic seasons. The Senior Women also took the team prize, well done!

Well done to Joe Hudak (3rd overall in the Senior Men), Tim Greenald (2nd in the Men’s Vet 40), Chris Swire (2nd in the Men’s Vet 45), Simon Grundy (3rd in the Men’s Vet 45), Gary Matthews (1st in the Men’s Vet 50) and Francis Day (2nd overall in the Men’s Vet 60).The Senior Men, Vet 40 and Vet 50 all took 1st place in the team prize, fantastic effort and results all round, well done!
