The Tour of Tameside was an iconic event of 6 races over 7 days of a total distance of 2 full marathons. It ran throughout the 80′s and 90′s before its final running in 2000. It was revived in 2003 but the organisers were unable to repeat the format due to closure of routes, motorways and tram routes. Many ECH members were involved in the tour and Jim Foster was one of a handful that completed every year.
