They always say that wisdom and experience triumphs over youth and exhuberance and that was the case on the hottest day of the year, bank holiday Monday when 40+ teams battled it out over 4 legs of 2 mile duration with the East Chesh vets team consisting of Gareth Simpson, Paul Kenny, Andy Farley and Barry Hirst coming 4th overall and securing first vets team. Barry Hirst posted the fastest leg overtaking their nearest rivals a strong vets team from Burden runners.
