North of England Cross Country Relays 2016

The North of England cross country relays took place on Saturday 22nd October at Graves Park in Sheffield, with ECH fielding out numerous teams with some great results.

The under 11 boys had 2 teams competing, for most of them it was their first time racing with the A team finishing a brilliant 7th (James Harney 5.16, Luke Carrington 5.30 and James Mcgraw 5.40) and the B team finished a creditable 13th position (J Bowlergreenwood 5.22, Cole Wright 6.11 and Jake Beswick 5.53) out of 28 finishing teams. The under 13 girls team finished in a solid 18th place out of 39 finishing teams with good runs from Christie Allen (6.14), Libby Kilbourne (7.14) and Rose Barlow (6.20).

The under 15 girls team had our highest finish of the day in a superb 5th place overall out of 45 teams. Great performances from Megan Lewis (8.20), Holly Jackson (8.18) and Ty Brockley-Langford (8.30). Darcy Winrow also had a run out on the first leg with a solid time of 9.27.

ECH had 2 teams in the senior men’s event which consisted of 4 legs of just over 2 miles. Joe Steward had a fantastic run on the first leg running the quickest leg overall on the day with a time of 9.49! Joe Hudak 11.20, Gavin Browne 11.43 and Barry Hirst 12.18 made up the A team finishing in 17th overall out of 62 teams. The B team finished 48th overall with good performances from Scott Gillespie 13.11, George Lewis 11.50, Mark Millns 13.13 and Gary Matthews 13.09.

Well done to all who took part and for all the parents, coaches etc cheering on at the side!
