As I am sure many of you are aware, East Cheshire Harriers & Tameside Athletics Club has for many years now hosted a series of cross country races through the winter months, which has been well attended by schools across Tameside.

The races give children the opportunity, for many of them their first, to take part in cross country competitions. The events are a good way for your school to prepare for the cross country championships which take place around February and are again hosted by East Cheshire Harriers & Tameside Athletics Club.

Registration takes place from – 9.30am with the first race years 3 / 4 boys starting at – 10.00am. This will be followed by year 3 / 4 girls, year 5 / 6 boys and the last race being the year 5 / 6 girls.

As in previous years, years 3 / 4’s will do 1 lap and years 5 / 6’s doing 2.

You can bring as many children as you like, but you need at least 4 to finish a scoring team (you can still run if you don’t have 4).

To confirm your entry please just email me at then bring payment on the day – cheques made payable to Tameside Athletics Development Group.

We look forward to seeing you and your school in the near future.

‘Thanks again to you and the ECH Team for organising another set of races. I did mention it to a couple of the marshals in the clubhouse after the 3rd race that all races down at ECH are definitely among the best organised comps we go to’
