Coach Glenn Piper weekly round-up and GM Track & Field Results

Weekend highlights for Seniors include a welcome return to form for Hayley Simpson in the Chester half marathon on Sunday 15th May with a time of 1.34.56. In the same race selected for the England masters V50 team Chris Swire finished 11th in his age category with a solid 83.16. Michelle Vaughan ran a very impressive 18.58 in the Platt Fields Parkrun on Saturday. An eye popping 88.4% age grade score and a course record. No V50 female has ever ran faster on that course.

The Greater Manchester Track & Field Championships also took place this weekend. Darren Smith ran a huge 40 second PB in the 3000m with 10.25 to take the Senior gold medal (more results from this event below). Finally the huge improvement for Sam Mabbott continues with a very impressive 19.25 at Parkrun. He joins a good group all around the 19-19.30 mark.

Well done to all who took part in the above event, there is too many to mention. Winning performances came from Joe Harney (U15 Discus – 24.11), James Harney (U17 Pole Vault – 3.00m & Javelin – 44.62), Lily Murphy (U17 100m – 12.18), Henry Shoesmith (U13 1200m – 3.59), Joe Hudak (800m – 1.56), Emilia Platt (U20 3k – 10.08) and George Lewis (SM 3k steeple – 11.37).
