Sunday 6th May – Ellesmere Port

The first match of the series saw a good turnout from ECH juniors through to the seniors. Winning performances came from; Megan Lewis who ran brilliantly to win the 3000m women’s race in 11.41, James Warney a superb 1st in the under 13 boys 800m with 2.29, Abby O’Neil a convincing victory in the under 17 women’s 1500m with 5.06, Emily Bowker ran 11.5 to win the under 11 girls 75m as well as winning the 600m in 1.53.3 and finally Isla Herring won the open under 11 600m race in 2.23. ECH finished 4th with a total of 146 points, well done to all who took part.

Saturday 2nd June – Wrexham

Another good turnout at the second match of the series, with some good performances from ECH athletes. John Trotman had a good day winning the men’s 200m in 24.5 and also the long jump with a distance of 5.78m. Jacob Taylor won the men’s 1500m in 4.59. James McGraw won the 100m in 13.9 and James Harney won the 1500m in 5.14.6 in the under 13 boys category. The under 11’s performed well with Joe Taylor winning the long jump A with 3.13m, Tom Snowdon winning the long jump B with 2.56 and 600m in 2.01.5, Alfie Bundy won the 150m B race in 24.5 and Max Ormson won the non-scoring race with 25.1. The under 11’s also did well in the throwing events with Joseph Harney taking first place in the soft javelin with 14.67 and Alfie Manser winning the B heat with 9.96. Leigha Manser won the under 13 girls high jump with 1.20m. Well done to all who took part with the team finishing in 2nd position overall.

Sunday 15th July – Stockport

The third match of the series took place at Woodbank Park in Stockport with another good turnout from ECH athletes with the team finishing 3rd overall with a total of 308 points. Excellent winning performances came from Delilah Gregory (senior men 800m – 202.3), Ryan O’Neill (Under 15 boys Javelin – 25.27), James McGraw (Under 13 boys 800m – 2.25.9), Abby O’Neill (Under 17 women 100m – 13.9 & 1500m – 4.58.5), Alex Knight (Under 15 girls 100m – 14.4), Emily Bowker (Under 11 girls 600m – 1.52.5). Well done to all who took part.
