Age World Record for Mike!

East Cheshire athlete Mike Coogan took part in the Worthing track night on Tuesday 18th August, going in the 300m event. Mike already holds the Vet 45 world record of 36.15 which he ran in 2018.

Mike had a magnificent run in the fastest heat against athletes of all ages, coming home in a superb 36.93 seconds to break the age record for a 48 year old. Both the overall Vet 45 and age group record were previously held by 200m world record holder Darren Scott.

Mike is now also the oldest person to break the 37 second mark – an amazing achievement, well done!
