The Tour of Tameside made a return in 2021 with the same format of 4 races in 4 days consisting of:
Thursday 29th July – X Trail 10k, Daisy Nook
Friday 30th July – Hell on the Fell 6 mile, Copley
Saturday 31st July- Heroes Half Marathon, Longendale Trail
Saturday 1st August – Dr Ron Hill (RIP) 7 mile, Hyde
Four East Cheshire athletes took part in the full tour and many others completed some of the individual races. Hayley Simpson had a fantastic Tour finishing 3rd female overall and 2nd in her age category with a combined time of 3.57.41. Hayley was also 1st female home in two of the four races. Liam Browne finished a very creditable 6th place overall and 4th in his age category with a combined time of 3.20.22. Dennis Thomas finished a solid 18th place overall and brilliant 3rd in his Male 45 age category with an overall time of 3.43.12. And finally Darren Smith also performed well finishing 19th overall and 5th in his age category with 3.44.26.
Joe Hudak finished an amazing 2nd place in the X Trail 10k with a time of 35.19 against some strong competition.
