The Greater Manchester Marathon took place this Sunday 10th April with 7 East Cheshire athlete’s taking to the 26.2 mile distance.
Janet Grint was first home with a brilliant run, completing the course in 3 hours 26 minutes and 43 seconds. This is a new PB for Janet and takes on the London Marathon in 2 weeks time, good luck with that! The next two home finished within 3 seconds of each other just breaking the 3 hours 30 minutes barrier with Tom Smith and Pam Read running times of 3.29.16 and 3.29.19 respectively.
Tony Hillier was next home after a bit of trouble with traffic making the start, he managed to still run around in 3 hours 32 minutes and 42 seconds and finished 3rd in his vet 65 category. Our final 3 representatives were Neil Edwards, Jennifer Read and Andrea Edwards, who all ran well with times of 3.45.41, 3.50.39 and 3.54.28 respectively.
A great effort all round and well done on completing the very tough marathon distance.
