Greater Manchester Cross Country Championships 2019/20

The Greater Manchester Cross Country Championships again took place at a very tough, muddy Boggart Hole Clough, the muddiest it has probably ever been after the consistent rain! The top 4 finishers in each age group get automatic selection to represent Greater Manchester at the Inter Counties Cross Country Championships at Loughborough in March 2019. Then 4 further positions are picked by the selectors on performances from now up until the race, with the top 12 in the race receiving a letter with the chance of being selected to represent their county.

The under 13 boys team finished a creditable 7th place overall with good performances from Alfie Bundy 21st, Tim Elgar 24th and Patrick Mannion 30th. Emily Bowker has given herself a chance for selection at the Inter Counties finishing a brilliant 8th place with teammates Maria Rooke 20th and Alice Cuningham 26th making up the team which finished in 6th place. Matilda Byrnes has also given herself a chance for selection with a solid 6th place finish in the under 15 girls event.
