East Cheshire Athletes excel at regional Sportshall Finals

Six of our athletes travelled to Robin Park Arena last Saturday to join athletes from other local clubs in representing Greater Manchester in the Aviva Regional Finals. Regan Walker and Paige Ditchfield were key members of the victorious under 13 girls squad, who now travel to Birmingham for tne National Finals on 7th April. Regan won a gold medal in the 4×2 relay and narrowly missed out on a bronze in a blanket finish to the 2 lap final. Paige produced a big PB of 9m27 to see off the opposition and take gold in the shot put.

Our two under 13 boys, Alex Green and Sam Emery-Shawcross, played a big role in their team, not least in the 4×2 relay, where their brilliant 3rd and 4th legs helped the team to gold in a tight finish. Sam also took gold in convincing fashion in the 2 lap final and bronze in the standing long jump, while Alex did well to reach the 4 lap final against tough competition.

Rebecca Kennedy and Danielle Parrott were part of the under 15 girls team that finsihed 3rd overall. Rebecca took bronze in the all-rounder competition, having won the standing long jump and finished joint 2nd in the 2 lap race. Danielle was half of the parlauf team that finished 3rd and achieved a PB in 8th place in the speed bounce.
