Black Knight Charge Results 2016

East Cheshire’s very own annual Black Knight Charge 6 mile multi-terrain race took place on Wednesday 27th July. There were a total of 106 finishers on the night in good conditions.

Ex East Cheshire athlete Gareth Raven now of Sale won the event 34.25, with Clive Fitzpatrick of Trafford 2nd in 35.34 and Rob James of Royton Road Runners came 4th with 35.38. First East Cheshire athlete home was Joe Hudak in 4th place with a solid effort and finish time of 37.11. Peter Nicholson was 15th overall in 43.31, closely followed by Alan Kennedy in 16th overall and 2nd Vet 50 with 43.58. Tom Hubbard was 20th overall and 1st under 20 male with a good run and time of 44.20. Other good performances from Howard Bamber in 67th and 2nd Vet 60, with Richard Wlodarczyk in 87th and 3rd vet 60 with in 58.04.

In the Women’s event first place went to Sarah Carroll of Oldham & Royton with a time of 44.32. Second place went to Sally Newman of Saddleworth and first Vet 55 with 44.50. Sara Blower of Leamington with 45.43 finished in 3rd place. First back for East Cheshire in the ladies race was Sally Teague finishing 4th with a solid effort of 47.30. Pam Read wasn’t far behind with 48.08 coming 5th overall and 1st Vet 35. Andrea Edwards had a good run winning the Vet 45 category in 51.16, with Barbara Dickinson 3rd in the same category with 53.03. Andrea Maidment was 2nd Vet 50 in 57.13 and Ann Cherry ran well to finish 3rd in the Vet 55 category with 1.06.55.
